The Ethiopian Sugar Industry Group, established in 2022, is a major player in Ethiopia's agricultural sector, aimed at transforming the nation's sugar production capabilities. With multiple facilities, including eight operational factories such as Wonji Shoa, Metahara, and Finchaa, the Group is poised for significant growth, planning to produce 726,670 tons of sugar annually by 2026/2027. The extensive potential of over 4 million hectares of irrigable land coupled with a favorable climate enables high cane productivity and positions the Group as a leader in both domestic and export-oriented sugar manufacturing.

In addition to sugar, the Ethiopian Sugar Industry Group is also involved in ethanol production, generating over 32.5 million liters annually. The Group's commitment to sustainable practices is complemented by the Sugar Academy, which facilitates professional training and knowledge transfer within the industry.
