Landsforeningen for Etterlatte ved Rus (EVR) is a Norwegian association supporting people who have lost loved ones to substance-related deaths. Guided by empathy, dignity and respect, it works to improve bereaved people’s circumstances and ensure their experiences and needs are heard in society. EVR advocates for adequate support and follow-up for those affected, and seeks to influence public services toward consistent practices when responding to substance-related deaths.

The association provides information and opportunities for engagement through its website, including knowledge resources, a brochure, research-related information and details about events such as the 2026 bereavement conference. EVR is also developing local county chapters, inviting bereaved people and professionals working in substance use and grief to help shape initiatives for their communities. In addition, it shares information about Overdosefare.no, a warning system launched by the Norwegian Directorate of Health to alert people to high-risk drugs in circulation and help prevent overdoses and deaths. Supporters can contribute to EVR’s work, and the association welcomes contact and feedback.
