d'Études Historiques

Cabinet d’Études Historiques is a cultural heritage research and consultancy practice based in Rohan, Morbihan, serving public authorities, architects, legal professionals, cultural organisations and individuals. Established in 2015, the cabinet combines historical, archaeological and genealogical expertise to help clients understand, preserve and share the stories of buildings, landscapes and family heritage. Its work draws on archival research, field surveys and archaeological evidence, with studies carried out across western France and other parts of France, as well as in Belgium and Switzerland.

Services include heritage assessments to inform restoration and redevelopment projects, research into land rights and historic uses, family and property genealogy, heraldic studies, and analysis of medieval seals. The team also transcribes old documents and translates Latin sources to support historical and legal enquiries. For cultural mediation, it develops guided visits, talks, exhibitions and explanatory brochures. The cabinet’s interdisciplinary approach is designed to make rigorous research accessible and useful, and it contributes expertise to nonprofit cultural and heritage initiatives through skills-based philanthropy.
