About EU-Japan Centre
The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is a leading organization that promotes and facilitates industrial, trade, and investment cooperation between the European Union (EU) and Japan. Established in 1987, the Centre plays a vital role in strengthening the EU-Japan economic relationship. With the entering into force of the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement and Strategic Partnership Agreement in February 2019, the Centre aims to further develop and enhance this economic partnership.
The Centre provides various services and programs to improve the competitiveness and cooperation of EU and Japanese companies. These include training programs, internships in Japanese companies, market access workshops, and business missions in Japan. Additionally, the Centre offers valuable support in areas such as biotech, digital, green, and nanotech clusters, as well as tax and public procurement helpdesks.
With a dedicated team of 34 employees and a budget of 4. 8 million euros, the Centre operates from its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and has a branch in Brussels, Belgium. Led by President Nikolaus BOLTZE and Managing Directors Yasuo TANABE and Manuel HUBERT, the Centre is committed to fostering collaboration and exchanging experience and expertise between EU and Japanese businesses, contributing to the growth and success of both regions
