About EUREC
EUREC is the Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centers, serving as the voice for renewable energy research in Europe. Established in 1991, EUREC aims to promote and support the development of innovative technologies and human resources to facilitate a prompt transition to a sustainable energy system. Composed of prominent research and development groups across Europe, EUREC members specialize in all renewable energy technologies, such as wind, biomass, hydro, marine, geothermal, photovoltaics, solar thermal electricity, and solar thermal heating and cooling.
Additionally, extensive research is conducted on supporting technologies such as energy efficiency, storage, distribution, and integration, while also examining the social and economic aspects surrounding renewable energy. EUREC's mission centers around identifying research needs, promoting sound policy making, enabling innovation and technology transfer, fostering a qualified workforce, and supporting international R&D cooperation. The Association is governed by a Board of Directors and a dedicated Secretariat team headquartered in the heart of Brussels.
