About Euro Art
EuroArt | Worpswede is a renowned brand that delves into the rich history and present-day inspiration of artists' colonies. Artists' colonies emerged in the 19th century when painters sought solace in the countryside, breaking free from the confines of art academies. These colonies became a hub of creativity with artists, writers, musicians, and critics coming together to exchange ideas.
EuroArt aims to preserve and explore the legacy of these colonies, which played a vital role in shaping artistic movements like Realism, Impressionism, and Surrealism. Founded in 1994 in Brussels, EuroArt consists of several artists' colonies such as Barbizon, Tervuren, Ahrenshoop, Kronberg, and Worpswede. By revitalizing rural regions and reinstating cultural heritage, EuroArt has sparked a renewed sense of self-confidence.
They foster European cultural understanding through personal visits, joint projects, exhibitions, and lively exchanges during annual meetings. Their commitment to promoting art and culture has been recognized by earning the Participatory status with the Council of Europe, solidifying their role as a leading representative of the cultural and creative sector. EuroArt's vision is to inspire connections through art and culture, continuing their efforts to build lasting peace and strengthen the European community
