About Eurocarers
Eurocarers is the European voice for informal carers, dedicating itself to advocating for their rights and needs. Their mission is to bring together carers' organizations, universities, and research institutes to provide evidence-based advocacy. They aim to ensure that care is valued and unpaid care is recognized as essential to the sustainability of health and long-term care systems.
Eurocarers believes in the significance of carers' expertise and the importance of their freedom to choose their level of involvement in caregiving. They document and raise awareness about carers' contribution to health and social care systems, in addition to the need to safeguard this contribution. Eurocarers calls for EU and national policies that promote social inclusion, develop support services, enable carers to maintain paid employment, and have a fulfilling social life.
They also strive for the implementation of ten guiding principles, including recognition, social inclusion, equality of opportunity, choice, support, and financial security for carers. Eurocarers is committed to creating equal opportunities for all through their activities
