About EuroFIR AISBL
EuroFIR AISBL is an international nonprofit association under Belgian law that advocates for food information in Europe. Established in 2009, their primary purpose is to develop, publish, and utilize food composition information while promoting international cooperation and harmonization of standards. EuroFIR AISBL collaborates with 26 compiler organizations in Europe, the USA, and Canada to gather the best available food information globally, including the FoodEXplorer database and validated bioactive compound information from eBASIS.
Their mission is to be the top independent broker of validated food composition data in Europe and beyond. They strive to improve data quality, storage, and access while encouraging the utilization of food composition data for research and commercial purposes. EuroFIR AISBL envisions delivering high-quality, validated national food composition data in various formats, essential for research, policy, and public health challenges related to food quality and nutrition in Europe.
As an EIT Food Network Partner, they collaborate with educational institutions, research organizations, and businesses to improve consumer trust and promote healthier nutrition and more sustainable food systems
