EurofleetsPlus is an alliance of European marine research infrastructure that aims to meet the evolving needs of the research and industrial communities. This H2020 project, funded under the Infrastructures initiative, brings together key marine research actors from Europe, North America, and Oceania. The project facilitates open and free access to an integrated and advanced research vessel fleet, designed to meet the challenging needs of researchers and industry professionals.

European and international researchers from academia and industry can apply for several access programs through a single-entry system. The project prioritizes research on sustainable, clean, and healthy oceans, linking with existing ocean observation infrastructures. It also supports innovation by working closely with industry partners.

With access to a unique fleet of 27 state-of-the-art research vessels, researchers can explore the North Atlantic, Mediterranean, Black Sea, North Sea, Baltic Sea, Pacific Southern Ocean, and Ross Sea. In addition to ship time, researchers also have access to new autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). EUROFLEETS+ also enables remote access through a portable telepresence system, allowing researchers and the public to participate in ocean research.

The project incorporates comprehensive transnational access activities, joint research initiatives, networking activities, training and education programs, innovation management, and extensive dissemination and communication actions. By integrating a larger number of research vessels and advanced marine equipment, EUROFLEETS+ extends and enhances the capabilities of the European research vessel infrastructure, promoting innovation and collaboration in marine research across Europe and beyond
