About EuroGOOS
EuroGOOS, the European Global Ocean Observing System, is an esteemed international non-profit association consisting of 48 members from 19 European nations, dedicated to advancing operational oceanography within the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS). Established in 1994 and headquartered in Brussels, EuroGOOS focuses on providing reliable marine data to support research, policy-making, sustainability, and blue growth initiatives.
With operational systems in five key regional areas—Arctic, Baltic, North West Shelf, Ireland-Biscay-Iberian, and Mediterranean—EuroGOOS facilitates strong collaboration between national agencies and research organizations. It strives to enhance marine research and ensure the availability of high-quality oceanographic services.
