About European co-operation for Accreditation
EA Accreditation, the European co-operation for Accreditation, is a reputable and not-for-profit association registered in the Netherlands. Formally appointed by the European Commission, EA aims to develop and maintain a multilateral agreement of mutual recognition called the EA MLA. This agreement is based on a harmonized accreditation infrastructure, which ensures fair trade, product and service quality, and reduces technical barriers to trade.
With 49 National Accreditation Body (NAB) Members, EA evaluates and recognizes organizations that carry out conformity assessment activities such as certification, inspection, verification, testing, and calibration. The accreditation provided by EA assures consumers, businesses, and regulators worldwide of the technical competence, independence, and impartiality of the Conformity Assessment Bodies it evaluates. Through adherence to Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 and ISO/IEC 17000 series standards, EA strives to facilitate trust and confidence in goods and services, enhance trade and economic growth, and contribute to a safer and more efficient society
