The European Mammal Foundation (EMF) supports knowledge and conservation of mammals across Europe, with a particular focus on collecting, organizing, and sharing information about their distribution. The foundation is home to the Atlas of European Mammals and is preparing the second edition, drawing on contributions from a broad network of national coordinators, species authors, and other researchers. Its website shares atlas news, project updates, documents, and information about the team.

EMF also provides online tools for exploring mammal data, including species lists by country, lists of countries where a species occurs, atlas-style distribution maps, and mapping through OpenStreetMap. Updates describe the EMMA2 database, which brings together records from across the atlas area and supports the preparation and review of species maps. The foundation also highlights related mammal atlas projects in Europe and promotes conservation initiatives and events, including the European Small Mammal Conservation Conference. Visitors can learn about the foundation’s work and contribute through donations.
