About European Law Institute
The European Law Institute (ELI), founded in June 2011, is an independent, democratic, and membership-based organization with a diverse network of over 1,600 individual Members and over 140 Institutional Members. The institute brings together a unique European legal community, including judges, academics, legal practitioners, government officials, and policy and decision makers from over 60 different countries in Europe and beyond. ELI is committed to contributing to the improvement of European legal development in a global context across all areas of law.
It achieves these aims by initiating, conducting, and facilitating research projects to issue well-considered recommendations and practical guidance on pressing legal issues.
