About Euroseeds
Euroseeds is a brand that specializes in the study and analysis of IPR-intensive industries and their economic performance in the EU. The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO) have collaborated to produce a comprehensive report on the economic contribution of IPR-intensive industries to the EU economy. This updated study reveals that these industries have become even more vital to GDP, employment, and trade in Europe.
The report highlights some key findings. There are now 357 IPR-intensive industries in the EU, employing over 61 million people directly and creating an additional 20 million jobs in industries that support them. In total, these industries account for 29.
7% of all jobs in the EU. Moreover, they contribute more than 47% of the EU's total economic activity (GDP) and generate a trade surplus of €224 billion, helping to maintain a balanced external trade.
