EuroSpeleo

The European Speleological Federation (FSE) is an international organisation bringing together speleological federations and national associations from 32 European countries. Founded in 1990, it is covered by the International Union of Speleology and promotes both sport and scientific speleology in all its forms. Rather than selling commercial products, the FSE provides a network and programme of services for cavers, member organisations and people interested in caves and karst.

Its work is organised through commissions and working groups, including the European Cave Protection Commission, the European Cave Rescue Commission, and groups focused on young cavers, show caves and speleology media. The federation supports projects and initiatives for cave and karst protection, shares news and resources through its website and electronic EuroSpeleo newsletter, and coordinates meetings, events and international activities. These include the annual EuroSpeleo Forum, youth opportunities, protection initiatives and public-facing contests. Through its publications, events and collaborative structures, the FSE encourages cooperation across Europe and helps advance responsible exploration, scientific study, rescue expertise and the conservation of underground environments.
