About EUscreen
EUscreen is a collaborative network that brings together European broadcasters, audiovisual archives, media scholars, and technical experts to enhance access to and engagement with the continent's rich audiovisual heritage. Launched in October 2009, EUscreen operates an independent online portal that features over 60,000 archival audiovisual items, providing free access to a wealth of clips showcasing significant social, cultural, political, and economic events from the 20th and 21st centuries. The platform serves as a vital resource for educators, researchers, and media professionals seeking European audiovisual content, and it promotes collaboration among its 40-plus members from nearly 30 countries.
EUscreen also partners with Europeana to support its members in curating collections and reaching wider audiences. Additionally, the EUscreen initiative includes the VIEW Journal, the first peer-reviewed journal in European television studies, promoting academic research in this crucial area of cultural heritage. Through these efforts, EUscreen not only preserves European history but also nurtures a vibrant community of knowledge-sharing and innovation
