Every Smile Matters Nevada is dedicated to enhancing the oral health of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) throughout Nevada. The initiative focuses on raising awareness about the critical link between oral health and overall well-being, especially for the ID/DD community. By forging connections among dental and medical providers, caregivers, advocates, and policymakers, Every Smile Matters aims to improve access to culturally competent dental care.

The program specifically addresses the unique challenges faced by adults with ID/DD enrolled in the Home and Community-Based ID Waiver. These individuals often confront significant barriers to receiving adequate oral health care, including mobility issues, communication difficulties, and the need for specialized accommodations. Additionally, the initiative provides resources for proper education and training to ensure that dental providers can offer the necessary support to their patients.
