Engineering World Health (EWH) is a dynamic global organization that aims to improve healthcare in low-income countries by engaging engineering students, healthcare professionals, and communities in need. Our mission is to utilize STEM skills to enhance global health outcomes. Through our Institute programs, participants are provided with eye-opening and life-changing experiences, enabling them to serve hospitals in low-income countries effectively.
EWH also supports biomedical engineering technicians and instructors through workforce training programs in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, partnering with local hospitals, educational institutions, and governments to create sustainable solutions. Our University Chapters, design competitions, and STEM outreach initiatives foster a global community of students and engineers dedicated to improving patient care and saving lives worldwide. Founded in 2001 by engineering professors Bob Malkin and Mohammad Kiani, EWH has grown from a volunteer-based organization to a professional NGO, thanks to support from the Wallace H.
