EWSETA

The Energy & Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) is a South African skills development authority serving the energy and water sectors. It supports workforce development through skills planning, research, training-related programmes and quality assurance. Its work includes developing occupational qualifications, accrediting skills development providers and assessment centres, and registering assessors, moderators, facilitators and recognition-of-prior-learning advisers. EWSETA also administers mandatory and discretionary grants, with resources and application support for employers, learners and training providers.

The organisation provides stakeholder portals and guidance for submitting workplace skills plans and annual training reports, applying for grants, registering providers and learners, and accessing trade tests. Its learner resources include career guidance, a green skills career guide and information about job opportunities, including renewable energy recruitment. EWSETA also publishes sector research, skills plans, annual reports, performance reviews, policy documents and news about energy and water workforce development. Through these services, resources and partnerships, it helps stakeholders build relevant skills and strengthen capabilities across South Africa’s energy and water sectors.
