The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) is an inspiring and impactful campaign that encourages Europeans to take part in awareness-raising actions about sustainable resource and waste management. Held annually for a single week in November, the EWWR promotes the principles of reducing consumption, reusing products and materials, recycling waste, and organizing clean-up activities. The campaign also includes the Euro-Med Weeks for Waste Reduction, which focuses on waste prevention in the Southern Mediterranean context.

Each year, the EWWR awards outstanding actions during its Awards Ceremony, and in 2023, the thematic focus will be on packaging. Supported by public authorities since 2009, the campaign has gained momentum and participation from different countries. Moreover, the EWWR offers a variety of tools and resources to support participants in carrying out their actions.
