Exit Better

Exit Better is a UK employee ownership advisory brand and part of JLA Accountants, helping business owners explore succession and exit through Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs). Its team advises companies on selling a controlling stake to a trust that benefits employees, while supporting continuity for clients, staff and the business’s culture. Exit Better says eligible sellers may receive Capital Gains Tax relief on half of their gain, and explains how an EOT compares with a trade sale or management buyout.

The brand provides end-to-end EOT guidance, including assessing whether the structure is suitable, planning and valuing a transaction, advising on tax, and supporting employee briefings, trustee arrangements and repayments. It also offers services for accountants, such as white-label EOT delivery and guidance on adding EOT advice to their practices. Owners can access free guides, calculators, a suitability quiz, case studies and FAQs, or book a no-pressure consultation. Exit Better presents its approach as practical and transparent, with fixed fees and clear scopes, helping founders consider either a gradual transition or a full step back while keeping the business in employee ownership.
