About Exon Domesday
Exon is a scholarly project dedicated to the Domesday Survey of South-West England, presenting a comprehensive edition and translation of Exeter Cathedral Library MS 3500, known as the Exon Domesday. As the earliest known manuscript of the Conqueror's survey, this project offers in-depth resources for understanding the historical significance of the survey and its creation. The website features high-resolution images of the manuscript, fully searchable texts with parallel views, and detailed palaeographical and codicological descriptions.
Supported by funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, Exon is a collaborative effort involving experts from King's College London, the University of Oxford, and the Friends and Dean of Exeter Cathedral.
