Eye Care Foundation

Eye Care Foundation is a nonprofit organization working to prevent and treat avoidable blindness and visual impairment. For more than 40 years, it has focused on making eye care accessible, affordable and sustainable for people in underserved communities. Its programs operate in Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, Vietnam and Tanzania, particularly in remote areas of low- and middle-income countries where medical resources and trained eye-care professionals may be scarce.

The Foundation works with local partners and governments to strengthen services so that clinics can eventually operate independently. Its approach combines eye-care delivery, professional training, infrastructure development, and public awareness and education. Activities include screening adults and children, providing glasses, performing cataract and other eye surgeries, training health workers, teachers and volunteers, and equipping or renovating eye clinics.

Eye Care Foundation also raises support through individual and corporate donations, recurring gifts, legacy giving, fundraising activities, and partnerships with foundations and other organizations. By helping people access diagnosis and treatment, it aims to restore sight and enable them to work, participate in family life and contribute to their communities.
