F-Book

F-Book is a pioneering platform that has been a cornerstone of digital humanities since its inception nearly twenty-five years ago. Founded in Budapest through the collaboration of research students and university faculty, F-Book focuses on creating and publishing critical editions of literary works, textbooks, anthologies, and databases specifically designed for the internet. With a commitment to open access, F-Book emerged as a participant in the Budapest Open Access Initiative, contributing to the global movement advocating for free access to academic publications.

The platform has produced numerous original critical editions that remain accessible today, including contemporary literature and historical texts. In 2020, F-Book revitalized its mission by partnering with the Q.E.D. Publishing House to release both new and restored publications. This transformation reflects the flourishing field of literary informatics, now supported by multiple academic departments and research institutes in Hungary. F-Book continues to engage with a community interested in the future of digital literature and serves as a gateway to a wealth of literary resources on the internet.
