Friends Of Nature FON

Friends of Nature (FON) is Lebanon’s pioneering environmental NGO, founded in 1972 by Dr. Ricardus Haber to safeguard the nation’s rich natural heritage. Over the decades, FON has spearheaded significant initiatives in marine conservation, ecosystem restoration, sustainable agriculture, and environmental education. The organization aims to mitigate the threats to Lebanon's ecological diversity through various programs, including the development of marine protected areas and artificial reefs to enhance marine biodiversity.
