Faces to Call

Faces to Call is an app in development designed to make everyday communication simpler and more reassuring for older people and others who may find calling difficult, including people with cognitive disabilities. It aims to support connection with family, friends and caregivers while keeping the person using the app at the heart of decisions about their contacts and independence.

Calling within the app is being built around an agreed circle of approved contacts, making familiar people easier to reach. Users will also be able to set Do Not Disturb times and record personal video messages. If someone calls during those hours, they can receive the pre-recorded message, offering a familiar face and voice without requiring the recipient to be available.

Faces to Call is currently seeking interest from potential beta testers and supporters to help shape the service. Its features and testing arrangements are still being developed. Approved contacts are an additional safeguard, not a guarantee against scams, and the app should not be relied on for emergency calls.
