About FAFG
Fundación de Antropología Forense de Guatemala (FAFG) is an organization that applies forensic sciences to investigate, search, exhume, and identify the victims of the Internal Armed Conflict in Guatemala. With a focus on the period between 1960 and 1996, FAFG is dedicated to assisting families in the search and identification of their missing loved ones. Through their work, they have identified 3,800 missing persons from this time period.
FAFG also collaborates with international organizations, partners, and donors to coordinate efforts and communicate their findings. In addition, they have an Academy of Forensics that trains activists and professionals to conduct holistic forensic investigations and support programs for the families of the missing. FAFG is committed to memorializing the collective memory of the families and victims affected by the conflict.
