Fairbanks Women's Hockey

Fairbanks Women’s Hockey Association (FWHA) is a nonprofit organization serving adult women hockey players in Fairbanks, Alaska. Established in 1978, it operates the city’s only all-women’s hockey league and welcomes players ages 18 and older across all skill levels. The association aims to foster an inclusive, supportive environment where members can develop their hockey abilities, enjoy a social atmosphere, and practice good sportsmanship.

FWHA organizes regular league play, seasonal schedules, and jamborees and tournaments, including events such as the Juneau Jamboree and Kenai River Queens Spawned Out Tournament. Its website provides registration information, team schedules, game statistics, and resources for players, team managers, and officials. These include player assessment guidance, scorekeeper resources, information for people new to hockey, and opportunities to become a referee. The association also offers scholarships and shares league news, meeting minutes, bylaws, and player conduct expectations. With more than 190 players annually, FWHA supports women’s participation in hockey through organized competition, player development, and community connection.
