Fairfield Nursing Home is a privately operated nursing home in West Cork, providing residential care in a warm, homely setting. Owned by Sean and Anne Collins since 2001, Fairfield has 49 beds arranged across three self-contained houses: Rockmount House, Deelish House and Dromusta House. Each has sitting rooms, a kitchenette and a dining room, supporting comfortable group living and social connection.

The home offers full-time residential care, specialist dementia care, palliative care and respite care. Its approach places residents’ emotional needs at the centre, emphasizing personal connection, respect for each person’s reality, meaningful occupation and the understanding that people living with dementia can still feel. Residents may choose their own doctor; doctors visit daily and as needed, while physiotherapy is available weekly. Nutritional and occupational therapy services are provided when required.

Daily life includes arts and crafts, games, gentle exercise, music, singalongs, newspapers and knitting, as well as birthday and family celebrations. Local schoolchildren visit regularly to share music and activities.
