Fairfield Skating Club

Fairfield Skating Club is a skating instruction provider based in Fairfield, Connecticut, serving skaters of different ages and abilities. Its programs use the Learn to Skate USA curriculum, endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, US Speedskating, and Special Olympics. Lessons are taught in small groups in a nurturing, safe, and enjoyable environment, with an emphasis on sound technique, individual progress, and building confidence on the ice.

The club offers Snowplow Sam classes for children ages three to five, introducing coordination and basic movement through progressive levels, games, and activities. Basic Skills classes for skaters ages six and older build foundational skating abilities at each student’s pace. Additional offerings include Learn to Skate, Hockey Prep Academy, Figure Skating Prep Academy, and a homeschool program hosted with Wonderland of Ice. Classes at Sacred Heart University’s Martire Family Arena include instructor-led lessons, warm-ups, and practice time. Founded by Kristina Staal, the club draws on her more than twenty years of skating-program coaching and management experience.
