About Fair Food NZ
Fair Food is Auckland's original food rescue charity on a mission to feed people, not landfills. Established in 2011, they rescue fresh food from growers, grocers, and manufacturers, and hand-sort it for charities. They recover surplus food and redistribute it to those who need it most, saving tons of toxic greenhouse gases from the atmosphere in the process.
With 1,375,492 kgs of food rescued and 3,929,977 meals distributed to communities, Fair Food has made a significant impact. You can be a food rescue superhero too by getting involved with Fair Food. Donations of just $10 can provide a week's worth of fresh groceries.
They also welcome volunteers to join them around the kai tables at their Hub in Avondale. If you want to learn more about what they do, they have a video that explains their work.
