About FairPlay
FairPlay is a not-for-profit advocacy movement established in 2016 to combat dumping and predatory trade practices that harm South African industries. Led by Francois Baird, FairPlay focuses on creating fair competition in trade, especially in strategic sectors like poultry and sugar. By raising awareness on the detrimental effects of dumping, FairPlay aims to safeguard jobs, livelihoods, and communities impacted by unfair trade.
Through engaging with various industries and advocating for local production, FairPlay promotes the importance of ethical trade practices that align with national and international laws. Justice Richard Goldstone, as the patron of FairPlay, emphasizes the constitutional and humanitarian implications of dumping which lead to job losses and economic instability. FairPlay's mission is to eradicate predatory trade practices and ensure that trade is conducted ethically and fairly for the benefit of all South Africans
