FairSquare

FairSquare is an impactful non-profit organization based in London. Our mission is to investigate and challenge the root causes of human rights abuses, utilizing our expertise in research, communications, and advocacy. We focus on three major areas: the exploitation of migrant workers, accountability in sport, and the rise of authoritarianism.

In addressing the exploitation of migrant workers, we manage the Vital Signs Project which sheds light on the poor health and high unexplained death rates of migrant workers in Gulf states. Our goal is to make the health and well-being of these workers a political priority, ensuring better protection for those exposed to harsh climates. We have also conducted extensive research on the rights of migrant workers in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

As for accountability in sport, we work to prevent institutions and competitions from contributing to harm and suffering. By addressing the financialization and weak governance structures in the sports industry, we aim to create better, more democratic governance. Lastly, we confront the rise of authoritarianism by highlighting risks posed by soft power and institutional capture.

Our goal is to challenge autocrats directly and provide support to those fighting for civil and political rights. FairSquare Projects does not stop at research and advocacy; our sister company, FairSquare Research Ltd, offers consultancy services in research, policy, and legal analysis.
