FAIRTIQ is a Swiss mobility technology company founded in Bern in 2016 by public transport experts. Its mission is to make everyday travel easier through Mobile Pay-As-You-Go ticketing. Used by more than 100 public transport partners across 12 countries, FAIRTIQ technology has supported over 400 million trips and is available throughout Switzerland and Liechtenstein, as well as in other European regions.
For travellers, the FAIRTIQ app replaces advance ticket purchases and the need to navigate fare zones. Passengers swipe to start a journey, travel by bus, tram or train, and swipe to stop; the app tracks transfers and calculates the applicable fare using local tariffs. Where available, fare caps help ensure passengers do not pay more than necessary.
FAIRTIQ also provides ticketing solutions for transport operators. These include a ready-to-use app, the FAIRTIQ SDK for integration into an operator’s own app, customised deployments for complex networks, and FAIRTIQ Tap for passengers who cannot or prefer not to use a smartphone.
