The Falconry Heritage Trust is a registered charity dedicated to preserving falconry’s cultural heritage and making it accessible to people around the world. Working with falconry clubs, archives, academics, private collectors and other organisations, it identifies and records artefacts and information so that irreplaceable material is not lost. Its online archive is a free-access resource featuring historical manuscripts and texts, artwork, photographs, films, correspondence, falconry equipment and other artefacts.
Visitors can search the collection by region, country, species, period and artefact type, making it useful for falconers, students, researchers and anyone interested in the history of the sport. The Trust also provides educational material, a law archive and video interviews with experienced falconers, and links users to items held in independent collections. Artefacts may be donated, or remain with their owners while being documented or copied for posterity.
The Trust offers grants and scholarships to support its aims and works to connect international communities while promoting understanding and conservation of falconry’s heritage
