Falkberget

Falkberget-Ringen is an association dedicated to preserving and sharing the life, work, and cultural legacy of Johan Falkberget, the Norwegian author, journalist, politician, and social commentator from Rugeldalen near Røros. The association brings members and other interested readers together through lectures, seminars, excursions, and literary events exploring Falkberget’s writing and the mining communities that shaped it. It also works to safeguard Ratvolden, Falkberget’s home, his birthplace at Falkberget in Trondalen, and other places and environments connected with his work.

The organization’s website serves as a resource for learning about Falkberget and his books. Visitors can explore biographical information, bibliographies, articles, links, and audio and video materials, as well as information about new publications and the Falkberget collection at Røros Public Library. The association publishes the membership newsletter Falkberget-Nytt and shares details of seasonal programs and performances. Ratvolden’s grounds are open for independent visits, while guided tours of the home can be arranged through Røros Museum. Membership is available to individuals and organizations.
