The Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival is a vibrant celebration of maritime music and culture, set against the stunning backdrop of Falmouth, Cornwall. Scheduled for June 13-15, 2025, the festival features over 80 groups performing a diverse range of sea shanties and nautical songs across 25 venues. This annual event not only highlights local talent but also invites performers from around the globe, fostering a rich exchange of musical traditions.
Among the notable groups participating are ACapella Moonshine, the first all-female shanty group that champions women's perspectives in sea shanty music, and the Aggie Boys Choir, known for their humorous, modern take on traditional shanties. Each ensemble brings unique interpretations and original compositions that resonate with audiences of all ages.
With a focus on community engagement and sustainability, the festival also supports charities like the RNLI, making it a heartwarming and entertaining experience for all visitors. Join in the fun, celebrate nautical heritage, and contribute to a worthy cause!
