Families Anonymous (FA) is a global fellowship dedicated to supporting family members and friends impacted by someone else's substance abuse or behavioral issues. Founded in 1971 in the United States, FA has established a presence in the UK since 1980, with approximately 50 groups meeting regularly across the country. These gatherings offer a safe space for concerned individuals to share experiences, seek advice, and receive mutual support, even if they only suspect a problem. The organization operates on a self-help model, guided by a program based on the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions initially created by Alcoholics Anonymous.
