FAME Chile

FAME Chile, the Corporación Familias Atrofia Muscular Espinal, is a Chilean nonprofit organization supporting people with spinal muscular atrophy (AME) and their families. It works to address limited awareness and gaps in access to treatment by sharing information, guidance and practical support. Its activities include awareness campaigns, seminars and family gatherings, alongside medical and legal support related to available treatments.

FAME Chile also provides social support through a team of professionals focused on vulnerability and public services. The team helps families connect with relevant resources and navigate matters involving health, education, SENADIS, municipalities and disability certification. The organization offers a patient registry and publishes information about AME, diagnosis and care, disability-related laws, and other useful resources. It also shares news and educational materials to help patients and families understand the condition and available support.

Through donations and community engagement, FAME Chile advocates for improved quality of life and fair access to the best available treatments and therapies for people with AME in Chile.
