About Familias CAPACES
Familias CAPACES Inc. is a non-profit community-based organization founded in 2001. Our acronym, 'CAPACES,' stands for Criando/Cuidando with Amor, Paciencia, Control Estímulo, and Sabiduría. We offer services directly in communities, homes, schools, and workplaces to address interpersonal violence, family issues, and child abuse prevention. Our mission is to strengthen family and interpersonal bonds to prevent child abuse and violence. Our interventions are based on theoretical models that focus on multiple interaction spaces like families, schools, and communities, highlighting participants' strengths.
Familias CAPACES aims to empower individuals and families with the tools needed to navigate contemporary society effectively. With a history rooted in addressing violence and abuse, we have provided services to over 29,000 individuals across Puerto Rico. Our evidence-based psychological services, including workshops like Disciplina Preventiva, have been recognized for their innovative approach by federal agencies.
