Familieberichten Archief

NFBA, the Nederlands Familie Berichten Archief, is an online archive designed to help genealogists and family-history researchers find information about people recorded in Dutch death notices. The archive collects family announcements, currently focusing on funeral cards and obituaries published in Dutch newspapers. NFBA explains that these records can contain valuable genealogical details, sometimes offering more information than memorial cards.

Visitors can search the database by surname, preferably without name prefixes, and can also enter an exact date using the indicated day-month-year format. When a relevant person is found, users can request a copy of the funeral card or obituary free of charge. The website displays searchable records with names and, where available, birth and death dates, alongside recently added entries and an archive section.

NFBA presents itself as a practical research resource rather than a general news or memorial service. Its collection includes tens of thousands of death notices and is updated periodically, helping users explore historical family records and identify material that may support their genealogical research.
