About Familienwortschatz
Familienwortschatz is a collaborative knowledge platform operated by familienfreund KG, created to explain terms and connections that appear across the organisation’s information services. These resources serve employers and self-employed people, employees and their families, service providers listed in the Familienkatalog, and people seeking information relevant to Leipzig. The Familienkatalog is described as a nationwide directory of family-related and family-supporting services and providers.
The platform uses a wiki format, allowing users to add, edit and connect information in one accessible place. Its content includes explanations and reference material on care, health, vocational training, professional development, care management and related organisations. It also preserves selected, openly licensed content from PflegeWiki, a nursing-focused knowledge project that began in 2004 and closed in 2018.
Familienwortschatz invites visitors to create a free account and contribute or help improve articles, images and categories. The wiki is available in multiple languages, and users can browse its pages or search for topics. Its aim is to make useful knowledge easier to find, share and maintain.
