Familieviften

Familieviften is a Danish provider of tailored support and treatment for children, young people and families facing challenges. Its goal is to build trust and wellbeing through individualised services developed in close cooperation with each family, recognising parents’ knowledge of their children and meeting families where they are. The team includes social workers, educators, psychotherapists, family therapists and early-childhood specialists, with experience in residential care, social services and support delivered in the home.

Services range from preventive guidance to intensive and urgent interventions. They include family treatment and counselling, observation and treatment at home, contact and support persons, and specialist support for expectant parents, infants and young children. Familieviften also offers supported and supervised contact, screening, assessments and teaching, support for high-conflict families, and a violence-focused treatment service. Its 24-hour emergency team can respond at short notice, provide stabilisation and arrange emergency accommodation in the Køge area. Intensive home-based programmes can offer an alternative to a mother-and-child institution, aiming to provide treatment in familiar surroundings and support safety and positive change.
