Hong Kong is a premier international financial center and a hub for wealth management, making it an ideal location for family offices to operate and thrive. The New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme, open for applications since March 1, underscores the government's commitment to enhancing asset and wealth management, financial services, and related professions in Hong Kong. Eligible applicants are required to invest a minimum of HK$30 million in permissible assets, with successful applicants being able to bring dependents to Hong Kong.
Initially granted a two-year stay, they have the option to extend it for three years, eventually leading to eligibility for permanent residency after seven years of continuous residence. Invest Hong Kong evaluates financial qualifications, while the Immigration Department manages visa applications and extensions.
