Family Paths is an Alameda County nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families and preventing child abuse. Founded in 1972, the organization supports parents, caregivers, children, and families with respect, compassion, and hope. Its Parenting Stress Helpline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering free support and guidance; a separate Foster Parent Advice Line provides tailored assistance to foster parents and kinship caregivers.

Family Paths offers mental health therapy, crisis support, and trauma-informed care for children, parents, and families. Its culturally responsive parent education includes classes, support groups, and programs focused on positive parenting, fatherhood and co-parenting, and young parents. Additional services include CalWORKS employment support and case management, foster parent advocacy, and other family support services.

Through community outreach, professional training, resource referrals, and partnerships, Family Paths also works to expand local support networks and strengthen community capacity. Families can access parenting tips and self-care resources, while volunteers and community members can contribute through helpline service, board participation, and other opportunities.
