Fannin County Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving students in Blue Ridge and across Fannin County, Georgia. Founded in 1991 by community-minded volunteers, the Foundation works to ensure that financial need does not prevent a deserving Fannin County High School graduate from pursuing higher education. Supported by local families, businesses, educators, and other community members, it provides scholarships to help students begin college or other post-secondary study.

Its scholarships are currently one-time grants for a recipient’s first year of college. Applicants must be graduating seniors at Fannin County High School, submit an application through the school’s guidance office, and be accepted by a post-secondary institution. A selection committee assesses applications using economic need, academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and faculty and staff recommendations. The Foundation also honors the school’s top 10 students each year with a gift and permanent plaque recognition. Community members can support its work through donations, planned giving, named scholarships, memorial gifts, and matching gifts. The Foundation aims to expand scholarship opportunities and support college preparation.
