Fantail & Turtle is a whΔnau-owned, fiercely independent bar, eatery and functions venue in Goodside, Smales Farm, Takapuna, Auckland. Established in 2018, it welcomes guests for everyday dining, drinks and events, with spaces that can host gatherings of up to 600 people. The architecturally designed venue features extensive gardens and all-weather outdoor areas, and a dedicated Functions and Events Manager helps plan occasions.
Its share-style, modern seasonal menu highlights sustainable, locally sourced produce, with dishes served as they are ready for relaxed, all-day grazing. The kitchen prioritises waste reduction, free-range proteins, sustainably line-caught fish, and herbs and greens from its gardens. Drinks include craft beer, real ale and cider from 15 taps, wine, gin and bespoke cocktails. An on-site microbrewery also offers brewing masterclasses, corporate brewing experiences and options for local home-brewing clubs.
Guided by manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga and whanaungatanga, Fantail & Turtle celebrates hospitality, community and independent producers. The venue has received recognition including Supreme Winner and Auckland Champion at the 2024 New Zealand Gastropub Awards.
