FarmConnect is a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of farmers across Ireland, addressing the unique challenges and pressures inherent in agricultural life. Launched in October 2021, this European Innovation Partnership (EIP) project is co-funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and seeks to create solutions that promote individual health while ensuring farm safety. The program features a Wellbeing Toolkit designed to equip farmers with strategies to manage stress and improve their overall wellbeing, ultimately fostering better farm management.

Collaborating with esteemed partners such as the Men’s Development Network, Teagasc, and Mental Health Ireland, FarmConnect aims to pilot its innovative approaches in counties Roscommon and Waterford before expanding nationally by 2027. This collaborative effort not only focuses on the mental health of farmers but also engages various stakeholders, including agricultural researchers and farmer representatives, to develop comprehensive support systems. With FarmConnect, the goal is clear: by taking care of themselves, farmers can take better care of their farms.
