Fashion Takes Action is Canada's premiere non-profit organization dedicated to advancing sustainability, ethics, and circularity in the fashion industry. Established in 2007, our mission is to work with all stakeholders involved in the fashion system, including manufacturers, retailers, consumers, and recyclers, to remove barriers to sustainability through education, awareness, research, and collaboration. We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organization and the industry as a whole.

We aim to create an inclusive and equitable environment where everyone can thrive, regardless of ethnicity, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender, or identity. Over the years, Fashion Takes Action has worked with thousands of apparel businesses, hosted numerous events, conducted research, collaborated with NGOs, and delivered educational programs to thousands of young people. We also convene the annual World Ethical Apparel Roundtable (WEAR) and have launched initiatives to increase textile waste diversion and promote mechanical textile recycling.

Through our strategic partnerships and resources like the Sustainable Fashion Toolkit, we strive to provide fair and accurate information to the industry and inspire smart decisions and actions towards a more sustainable future.
