Fat Cats Athletic Club

Fat Cats Athletic Club (Fat Cats AC), established in 2014, has rapidly become a cornerstone of the running community in South Africa. Emerging from the Fat Cats Football Club founded in 2003, this vibrant virtual club now boasts over 350 members, with a strong representation of women. Fat Cats AC is registered in three provinces—Gauteng, Limpopo, and Western Cape—promoting camaraderie among runners nationwide.

The club is renowned for its annual Fat Cats 10K Race, initiated in 2019, with proceeds directed towards community upliftment initiatives through their Corporate Social Investment (CSI) efforts. These initiatives include providing school uniforms, sanitary products, and book donations to underprivileged communities. Fat Cats AC stands out not only for its commitment to sport but also for its emphasis on social responsibility, significantly impacting local communities. With a proud culture embodied in their “#RedSkippa army,” Fat Cats AC continues to inspire runners, creating a family-like environment that promotes health, friendship, and meaningful social contributions.
